Activities

Scientific Meeting:

  • Student of the scientific group congregate every Saturday for the Scientific presentations. Students are given research topics to present. Students are evaluated on regular basis and are cross questioned to check their preparation level. At the end of each presentation, 5 minutes are allocated towards Doubt clearing session.

 

Coffee Talk:

  • Library is the emplacement where the students convene every Sunday night for Ethical case based discussion and Emergency Medicine videos from top notch universities like Yale and Harvard. Ted Videos are a common source of discussion alongside videos from the OPD from Boston gives the insight of the environment in the Emergency ward.

 

Journal:

  • We are proud to introduce the 1st Premiere issue of Acta Medica DaVinci, entitled “Modifying Medical Minds” intended as a companion, to be published by Da Vinci Medical Publication. The journal is authored, reviewed, edited, and published by medical students for medical students. Our next issue is expected in November.

 

Drawing workshop:

  • Drawing workshop for Neuroanatomy is conducted for the freshmen every year to get them versed with every corners of the topic. Anatomic location, adjacent structures, function, pathways and etc., are all taught with the help of sketches.

Special Classes:

  • Special classes on radio anatomy and Practical classes are conducted in the Library for the students to aid them learn better. Learning through visualization is the premiere technique for creating an information map for better understanding. Hence practicing on human models gives the student a change to understand structures in a 3 dimension space.

Clinical Procedure Videos:

  • Alternative weekends, Clinical procedure videos are played and is presented by one of the Final Year Students to enhance the exposure to the basic clinical skills once students go for Clerkship to Hospitals. Though an optional choice, the classroom is seldom empty and witness a wide group of people joining the presentation.

 

MCI Preparatory Test:

  • Students In the final year are inching close to their Licensing Examination. Hence DaVinci took an initiative to aid students in their preparation for the Licensing Exams. Every week Subjects and Topics are chosen and exam is conducted in an exam orientated Environment.

 

Quiz Competition:

  • To create a Competitive Environment among students, Quiz competition is organized to push students to learn better and faster adapting to the world standards. As many as 60 students participated for the Knock-out round and 5 groups have been selected for the Grand finale.
